Google Earth 5,0 Jelajahi Mars dan Dasar Laut

Meski masih menuai pro dan kontra tentang kehadirannya, Google Earth terus memperkaya inovasinya. Kali ini, pencinta peta digital dapat menggunakan Google Earth untuk melihat lautan, bahkan hingga ke Planet Mars.

Fitur baru ini hadir dalam software yang memungkin seseorang melihat citra gambar tentang ke dalaman laut, kondisi Mars. Tidak hanya itu saja, dengan Google Earth mampu menampilkan kondisi Bumi yang terbaru setiap waktunya.

Aplikasi yang diberi nama Google Earth 5,0 telah diujicobakan di California Academy of Sciences di San Francisco. Pada saat peresmiannya Senin kemarin, hadir mantan Wakil Presiden Amerika Serika Al Gore, penyanyi Jimmy Buffet. Kedua tokoh tersebut menyambut baik kehadiran Google Earth generasi baru tersebut.

Mereka mengatakan, perangkat ini bagus untuk mengetahui keadaan Bumi sesungguhnya dari ancaman pemanasan global, termasuk untuk memberikan pendidikan bagi masyarakat tentang kondisi alam semesta dan Bumi secara nyata.

"Ini merupakan alat pendidikan yang sangat kuat dan bagus," puji Al Gore, seperti yang dikutip Associated Press, Selasa (3/2/2009).

"saya berharap bahwa orang di seluruh dunia akan menggunakan Google Earth untuk melihat sendiri kenyataan dari apa yang terjadi karena krisis iklim," sambungnya.

John Hanke, Direktur Google Earth dan Maps mengatakan, ide penambahan gambar lautan datang sekira tiga tahun lalu. Ketika itu, seorang ilmuwan menyatakan sangat membutuhkan perangkat lunak untuk menganalisi hilangnya air yang meliputi hampir tiga perempat dari permukaan bumi.

"Dengan Google Earth, seseorang dapat menjelajah hingga ke dasar laut dengan tampilan gambar 3 dimensi," pungkas Hanke.

Salam hangat bt temen2.lama gak ol. Ada sedikit cerita:
Skrg jamene pancaroba. Waspadailah perub cuaca yg cepat.Kronologi puting beliung kmren.
Sesi 1. Sekitar jm 1 siang lebih Gerombolan siberat cumulus nimbus tiba2 nongol d UGM, pdhl sblmnya cm awan cumulus biasa. Langit tiba2 gelap. Cuaca sebelumnya panas&kering, pengennya copot baju dsb,he2
sensor. Dikarenakan itu tjd gradien tek udara yg besar antara daratan&langit. Terjadilah angin kencang yg menerbangkan sampah2 ke udara. Angin mengarah ke barat laut.
Sesi 2. 5 menit kmd trjdlah hujan lebat.
Sesi 3. 20 menit kmd angin brbalik k arah timur. Pohon2 mulai roboh,genting pd ilang. Rumah bergetar&kaca pecah. Org2 brlindung d bawah meja,takut tertimpa genting/rumah roboh. Mobil d jalan brhenti takut tertimpa pohon/jalan gak bs dlewati.Pohon bringin d jalan pert3an KG roboh.
Sesi 4. 10 menit kmd angin berbalik k barat laut/utara. Tower jmn roboh&pohon bnyk roboh.
Sesi 5. 15 menit kmd hujan&angin mulai reda. Krusakan mulai tampak d mana2. Seputaran sekip,gsp,jln bulaksumur,masjid kampus,seputaran ugm krusakanny parah.
Sesi 6. Jam 4 an sore kerja bakti aparat&masyarakat mbersihkan jln. Jln sudah bs d akses jm 6 sore. Trims atas partisipasi masyarakat.
Sesi 7. Jam 9 malem muter2 ugm. Ugm sprti medan perang,sampah pohon dmana2.
Sesi 8. Press rilis angin puting beliung yg terjadi d ugm "prematur"/blm sempurna. Apa jadinya ugm klo angin puting belingnya terbentuk sempurna. Yg jelas krusakan tambah parah.
Sesi 9. Hikmah:sekuat apapun manusia tidak akan bisa melawan kehendak alam. Allahu Akbar.
